International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing
(ICSOC)
Future Host Edition: 2027, 2028,
2029
The ICSOC Steering Committee invites Expressions of Interest (EoIs) to host a future edition of the International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing (ICSOC).
ICSOC is the flagship international conference in service-oriented computing, bringing together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to present and discuss cutting-edge research and innovative applications in service computing, cloud and edge computing, distributed systems, and related areas.
In keeping with ICSOC’s tradition of geographical rotation across Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region, the Steering Committee welcomes bids from institutions worldwide.
Scope of the Bid
An Expression of Interest should outline the proposer’s capability and commitment to host a high-quality, in-person ICSOC conference. At this stage, the Steering Committee seeks indicative, high-level proposals, rather than fully detailed operational plans.
Required Information
Bidders are requested to include the following information in their EoI (approximately one page):
- Bidder Information
- Name of the lead bidder
- Institution
- Proposed host city and country
- Motivation and Alignment
- Rationale for hosting ICSOC at the proposed location
- Alignment with ICSOC’s mission and research focus
- Institutional and Local Support
- Host institution’s commitment and relevant experience
- Local research community strength in service-oriented computing or related fields
- Indicative Conference Infrastructure
- Availability of suitable venues and technical facilities
- Accessibility of the location (international travel, accommodation range, visa considerations)
- Organisational Commitment
- Willingness to form a Local Organising Committee
- Commitment to uphold ICSOC’s standards, inclusiveness, and professional conduct
Important Dates
- Submission deadline for Expressions of Interest: 31/05/2026
- Notification of shortlisted bids: approx end of June 2026
- Invitation for full proposals (if applicable): July 2027
Submission Instructions
Expressions of Interest should be submitted electronically (PDF format) to the ICSOC Steering Committee by sending an email to mecella@diag.uniroma1.it with subject [EoI to host ICSOC < year >] should by adopting the form/template provided below. Informal enquiries are welcome.
Selection Criteria
The Steering Committee will consider bids based on:
- Academic leadership and community engagement
- Institutional capability and reliability
- Geographic balance of the ICSOC series
- Accessibility and attractiveness of the proposed location
Closing Statement
The ICSOC Steering Committee looks forward to receiving Expressions of Interest from prospective hosts and continuing the tradition of excellence that has defined the conference series since its inception.
